I Know We're Not Supposed To Make Jokes About People’s Names

     But all the same...

Does anyone here remember the old TV series Hill Street Blues? For a couple of years, the series editor was a certain Roger Director. When I first saw his name in the end-of-show credits, I thought “Another case of a mother’s career aspirations for her son, thwarted by Fate.” But that was then.

Today, courtesy of Stephen Green at Instapundit, we have this item:

Roger Kneebone, professor of surgical education at Imperial College, London, says young people have so little experience of craft skills that they struggle with anything practical.

Professor of Surgical Education Roger Kneebone? I can’t help but wonder what his connections were.
