Agreed. I don't pretend to understand Russia with its toxic stew of oligarchs, organized crime, and siloviki but neither do I expect it to shrug off 70 years of communist crimes and stupidity after the benevolent assistance of some cockroaches from Harvard. It's a wonder that a man like Putin rose to the top and it's a miracle that its debt is so minuscule and its military so good. Fox News falls over fools who denigrate Putin so he must be doing the right thing. His resistance to neocon excess drives them bonkers.
