In Matthew 22, Christ is asked which is the great commandment in the law, and He said, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."<br /><br />Seems to me that we can trust our acts of love for our fellows if we have done the work that it takes to "love the Lord our God with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind."
