Those jokers (the supposed "rightists") don't express one-quarter of that for any Democrat. Trump has chosen the right approach to this. What can you do except ignore it. "No, no. I'm not a misogynistic racist. Really!" is a loser of a response under any circumstances.

I didn't dislike Will in the past but he fit the label of cuckservative. They latter seems to have no starch or fire in them. I can't recall Will ever being really furious about anything. More like, "it has come to my attention that . . . ." That's a clever point made by someone else about Englishmen who write into the Times and begin their letters with that. I think had a similar reaction to them as I do to Will.

I used to read National Review cover to cover in the '80s. I think it was when Buckley banished Sobran to the Outer Darkness that I finally gave up. I remember reading Buckley's rambling and turgid essay vaguely having to do with some vaporous "anti-Semitism." I started to read it with interest thinking that he might shed some light on the bedrock feature of Wasp culture but it was not to be. I put that piece down and sought greener pastures. Btw, the WSJ was like that too. I used to read it with great interest but when I could see it was in the bag for open borders I quit reading it regularly. I don't think I read more than two articles a year and then only with a generous helping of disdain.Col. B.
