Folks will begin resisting unlawful arrest with lethal force resulting in the Officer being unable to collect his pension. Good cops will quit, because regular people will not be able to tell a good cop from a bad one. Only bad cops will be left and cities will burn, while EBT cards continue to deliver free food to the FSA. I wrote a post on this at length earlier.

When a society has a large criminal element, predominantly originating from a single community of people, it has four options:

1. Attempt to address the issue via Culture and Shame. In other words, identify the problem community publicly and shame the troublemakers as often as possible. Make sentences for convictions heavier. Impose more penalties. Our society has proven unwilling and/or unable to do this.

2. Deport the problem community. This is draconian and has a tendency to go bad throughout history because the inevitable question is: what if they refuse to go? In any event, our society is unwilling to do this, either.

3. Aggressive Policing. In effect, this is what you are describing. With this option, the police deliberately try to goad the troublemakers into making an overt offense, so that they can be imprisoned and removed from the street. Unconstitutional means will be used to prove the guilt of the troublemakers. Knowing that the populace will be hostile to this make the police edgy and fearful. A greater number of violent incidents will ensue.

Our society waffles on this one. On the one hand, it is clearly tolerating this behavior from the police to *some* degree. Indeed, it is even DEMANDING this sort of action in some parts of the country. On the other hand, when the problem community is (for good reason) targeted by police who are, in effect, doing what they have been ordered to do, the community cries foul. You can't have it both ways.

4. Do Nothing. Let the troublemakers continue to make trouble and watch your country transform into a Third World hellhole.

Americans, today, have ignored option 1, the most desirable method and have written off option 2 as hopelessly racist (even though it WOULD be effective). That leaves us with 3 & 4... and honestly, they don't seem to like #4 very much either.

When your only viable options are Police State and Third World Toilet... you know your country is screwed. I'll leave it to you on which you think is worse.Manuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13082153758868357687noreply@blogger.com
