A Great American

Like many others of my generation, I've been inundated with progaganda slurring various persons and organizations that have opposed the century's trend toward the centralization of power in Washington, the usurpation of extra-Constitutional powers, and the reduction of American sovereignty to a charming vestige under an internationalist order wholly opposed to American ideals.

Why have we been so inundated? We should have known the reason was sinister:

There have always been true Americans. There have always been Americans who understood both the games being played and the stakes at risk. And there have always been low persons determined that the nation view them as cranks...as anachronisms...as persons with a low and evil agenda of their own.

Decide for yourself.

  1. But wait, wasn't William F. Buckley hailed as a hero and a great conservative for drumming the John Birch Society out of the GOP?

  3. His 15 year plan failed and 38 years later every single thing he warned about is happening...or has already happened.

Sadly the John Birch Society was branded by the conservative intelligentsia (WFB at the forefront of that group) as a bunch of fire and brimstone lunatics...and both camps in the conservative movement have suffered for it. No matter how anyone tries to put a pretty face on it, conservatism has virtually lost the fight. The Overton window has moved so far to the left that what we consider conservative today would have disgusted and saddened Mr. Welch AND Mr. Buckley in 1974 when this speech was given.

  4. William F Buckley has many friends - They are Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levine, Michael Medved, Neil Boortz, and many others. Until American conservatives wake up to THIS fact "conservatism" will be hi-jacked and taken for a ride. Ask any Ron Paul supporter -- they learned this back in '07/'08.
