The CIA and Israel are responsible for the creation of Isis. Isis was created specifically to weaken Iran and destabilize Syria. It worked for awhile until Putin shored up Assad and bolstered Iranian Qud forces. The real reason you see such anti-Russian fever from both Schumer and McCain, Graham and Feinstein, is because the operation has blown up in our faces.[1]
Certainly, there is no satisfactory official explanation why we are spending billions to bring down Assad.
Let's go with this until a better one is offered.

If this is a good explanation (and it does have some logical rhythm), why then did O do so much to directly prop up Iranian regime economically and militarily? Why destabilize Iran surrogates in Syria but prop up their ability to survive the destabilization attempt?
ReplyDeleteThose are excellent questions. I think Israel's approach to its neighbors is divide and conquer, or at least neutralize. Given the enormous political power of Jews in the U.S., it seems it would naturally follow that the U.S. would be in lockstep with such a strategy. It's undeniable that we are, whether due to Jewish influence or some other consideration. Insufferable arrogance counts as "some other consideration" in my book as the absurd responsibility to protect "doctrine" demonstrates. Like the War on Some Drugs the R2P is applied in a highly selective manner.
ReplyDeleteThe obeisance toward Iran is extremely inconsistent with our ISIS "policy," I grant. It seems absolutely consistent with what I think is Obama's clear disdain for Israel. I thus have to argue for a schizophrenia in U.S. leadership (pre-Trump) to reconcile the U.S. policy toward Iran and ISIS/Assad which is unsatisfactory.
It can be reconciled if there is some independent reason for U.S. support of ISIS, which I think is undeniable, or antipathy for Assad. A desire to ensure that it is Gulf State gas that transits Syria is consistent with our slavish dedication to Saudi interests. The Saudis want Assad gone. Ergo, so does the U.S.
Pro-Saudi and anti-Israel sentiments thus perhaps exist in the same government. The gift to Iran, as well as the shot at Israel in the U.N., came late in the presidency of Obama and thus were nothing more than his Parthian shot.
I've said before that Syria pre-Trump resembles the Spanish Civil War in which numerous outsiders participated to further their own interests accompanied by horrific crimes and billowing clouds of propaganda that reached to the heavens. The motivations of the U.S. and Israel and the Western world at large frequently come perilously close to the realm of psychological pathology and spiritual disease. I think it will take future insider books to make this all clear.
Make that ". . . Parthian shot. Perhaps."
ReplyDeleteGiven the policy contradictions throughout the last 8 years, I conclude that there were multiple interests being stroked at the same time. To whit, the left hates Israel and that gives Obama the impulse to support Iran. On the other hand, the globalists support Saudi Arabia (and petro dollars) thus the need to placate the Saudis. Thus our support for their ISIS creation and the overthrow of Assad. Schizophrenia of the worst kind. However, everyone in the military-industrial complex came out ahead ($$$) even if policy was incoherent.
