Yes, Rush is Probably Right About This

The False Alarm in HI was sent by someone who wanted Trump to react.

If that happened, it would generate a series of memes to the effect that Trump needed to be impeached - for everyone's good.

Frankly, if there were incoming missiles, I trust Trump's judgement on that better than either Obama's or HRC's. For all that he Tweets seemingly without thought, my view of him is that he has a cooler head than either of them, and would make a choice based on AMERICA'S best interests.

I want a name to the perp. I want to be able to find out about his politics, friends, activism, etc.

  1. We'll probably never learn who, specifically, committed the "error" that sent out the incoming-missile warning. Hawaii's state government is almost devoid of Republicans, and the top officials there have an unconquerable aversion to Trump. But should we ever learn the perpetrator's name, we're less likely to learn who directed him to make his legendary "error."

  2. An under-reported element of this story, it seems to me, is that a false alarm in Hawaii was also put out in January 2017 at exactly the same time of day: 8:07 a.m. You can read about it here:

  3. I heard on a local talk show, so taken with a grain of salt until verified more rigorously, that the police knew it was fake within a couple of minutes but the "OOPS!" followup took another 30+ minutes.

Yes, this was done to make Trump do something, or look bad, or what...

I heard people got hurt because of this. Sue until Hawaii's governmental teeth bleed.

  4. Hard to argue with Rush's logic. And if, as Fran suggests, it gets "Las Vegasy" over who and how, we can say that Rush nailed it.

The official delay in broadcasting the false alarm notice is interesting. Every person with a cell phone got the earning and not one responsible person in that government facility said WTF? And no one knew it was false right away and knew where the "cancel" button was?

That's like believing the guy with the "football" next to the president saying, "I had it here just a moment ago. I'll go check my locker."

  5. Milton, that sounds like an alert linked to computer code. Hacker? Disgruntled former employee?

8:07 is close to the start of the work day . . . .

  6. Milton, I hadn't heard about that warning (I was down with a respiratory infection). Yes, the fact that it happened before at the same time says, to me, the same guy/group did it.

    Sort of a trial run.

  7. Only thing that Drudge put out about the guy is that he "Was Reassigned".
