More and more comments at the [French] websites I visit declare that France is finished and that it is too late to stem the onslaught of calamity. Other comments a bit more “optimistically” predict a bloody war in the streets of France, but I do not see that happening at all. I see instead a tightening grip on the people by a government rigidly determined to control everything, to punish dissent, and to employ the services of the media as the oracle before whom the terrified people bring their offerings."Macronism: avoid the essential, align with the enemy."
