I have learned that Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, better known as the former Pope Benedict XVI, has authored a theological article which various persons, both Catholic clergy and persons of other faiths, claim will foment anti-Semitism. Given Cardinal Ratzinger’s saintly nature and his long history of condemning anti-Semitism, I find this hard to believe. However, such a claim must be investigated, especially when it involves a highly placed and regarded Catholic cleric.
My problem is that I can’t locate Cardinal Ratzinger’s article. All I’ve found are news pieces that refer to it and quote other people’s opinions of it. This is very bad.
If anyone knows where Cardinal Ratzinger’s article can be found on the Web, please send me the URL at once. It’s very important to me to know what’s going on here. Has a brilliant Catholic intellectual, arguably the Church’s brightest light in a hundred years, gone off the rails? Or are people who want press attention stirring up controversy for purposes of their own?
Thanks in advance.

I cannot locate the article, however. Perhaps you can contact them dirctly.

I find it odd that someone(s) would critique an article with no link to that article for reference.
ReplyDeleteA Google search for -- "Benedict XVI" communio -- yielded:

That contained a link to a PDF of a purported German version of the article:
