My assigned torturer believes the problem to be cervical in nature -- a nerve track compromised near the base of my neck. He's putting me through range-of-motion exercises in an attempt to localize the problem more exactly. I'm going to give him a few weeks before I try something new.Francis W. I discovered your blog while trolling through the various blogs on the nature and danger of Islam that are out in the blogosphere, and have been following you for several months now, as I find your thinking fascinating.

This may be overstepping, but I notice that in many of your articles you mention constant pain, esp. in your shoulder. If I may make a suggestion, you might consider investigating a system of gentle touch known as "craniosacral therapy". I've used it to great result in the recent past to recover from several joint injuries and a ruptured/herniated vertebral disc (the L5/S1, it compressed the entire left side of the spinal cord, causing left leg paralysis). I was expecting to need surgery, but after several CST treatments the herniation actually resolved itself!

I realize this might sound ridiculous, and certainly can't say what the therapy might do for you, but highly recommend it. On an unrelated note, as you enjoy Steeleye Span (you are one of the two people I've ever encountered who does), may I make a recommendation based on a shared enjoyment? Try a band out of Alabama called the Drive-By Truckers; while I haven't liked all their art at first hearing, there is none that I dislike now.
Regards,

JoeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
