Yes, I’m sort of hanging back from the blog. Mostly it’s because of a sociopolitical fatigue that mushroomed when my friend Joe died. Losing someone you love will always restore your perspective, though the price, admittedly, is much too high.
But be not afraid, for I shall return. Meanwhile you have Linda and the good Colonel to amuse you. And I am making strides on Experienced. So be of good cheer, and remember what the great Robert A. Heinlein said in his most overhyped novel:
“Most neuroses and some psychoses can be traced to the unnecessary and unhealthy habit of daily wallowing in the troubles and sins of five billion strangers.” [Stranger in a Strange Land]
Later, Gentle Readers.
Rest up friend, we need you.

I can certainly understand. My husband's extended stay in Cleveland to treat a medical issue has drained me. I just can't sleep well without him. Not to mention that I'm just lonesome with him.
ReplyDeleteSo, I've been drained of energy for several months.
However, he is returning at noon today, so I'm anticipating a much more restful night.
Take your time; we'll be waiting to welcome you back when you're ready.
ReplyDeleteTake all the time you need friend. Rest, reorient, etc. We'll fight in your stead.
