In Memoriam

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: Dear God, I thank You for the life of Joseph Flamini, who passed from our arms to Yours at 5:00 PM on Monday, August 6, 2018. I pray You, lift up this extraordinary man, a true genius and a Renaissance man for our time, that he may enjoy eternal bliss in Your radiant presence. Please comfort his widow Helen, his wife of so many years, who now faces life without him, his incredible competence, his inexhaustible energy, and his unfailing love. May we who loved him always remember him in the fullness of his strength. I make this prayer through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.

After great pain, a formal feeling comes –
The Nerves sit ceremonious, like Tombs –
The stiff Heart questions ‘was it He, that bore,’
And ‘Yesterday, or Centuries before’?

The Feet, mechanical, go round –
A Wooden way
Of Ground, or Air, or Ought –
Regardless grown,
A Quartz contentment, like a stone –

This is the Hour of Lead –
Remembered, if outlived,
As Freezing persons, recollect the Snow –
First – Chill – then Stupor – then the letting go –

May the great Name of God be exalted and sanctified, throughout the world, which he has created according to his will. May his Kingship be established in your lifetime and in your days, and in the lifetime of the entire household of Israel, swiftly and in the near future; and say, Amen.

May his great name be blessed, forever and ever.

Blessed, praised, glorified, exalted, extolled, honored elevated and lauded be the Name of the holy one, Blessed is he- above and beyond any blessings and hymns, Praises and consolations which are uttered in the world; and say Amen.

May there be abundant peace from Heaven, and life, upon us and upon all Israel; and say, Amen.
