What book of account?

We now see that the [colonial] conquests proved to be short lived and precarious (and this, in turn, points to defects in the Western view of the world which led to these conquests). Relations with the former colonial world now have switched to the opposite extreme and the Western world often exhibits an excess of obsequiousness, but it is difficult yet to estimate the size of the bill which former colonial countries will present to the West and it is difficult to predict whether the surrender not only of its last colonies, but of everything it owns, will be sufficient for the West to clear this account.[1]
In what book of account are the West's deeds recorded? Are the words "The West" or "white civilization" the only words in the left column of this book?

Apparently so. All the other angelic peoples of the world have no line items to record.

I doubt the great Solzhenitsyn would disagree that it should be book with many names and entries. I infer rather than he knows the former colonial lands will never be satisfied with less than whites' total self-abasement and surrender. Come to think of it, there are plenty of white Westerners who will never be satisfied with less than that. Did our ancestors have to contend with treason on such a vast scale from the most educated and intelligent?

  1. Educated, yes (in a narrow, progressive manner, though).
Intelligent? Obviously not, or they would not behave in the fashion that they do.

  2. Correct on both counts. I can't but note that hopeless libs I know often do not lack for raw brain power and they've invariably read a great deal. Yet the output of their thinking amounts to advocacy of national suicide or economic ruin.

I once sought to discuss with a much loved liberal friend what kind of entrepreneurial scheme we could devise to get away from being wage slaves. In due course, we were discussing evil corporations as a feature of American life. I stopped the conversation then to point out where we'd started and where we'd ended up. He conceded my point but it was clear that he would never take the initiative to do something on his own. He would rather stay stuck in a worldview that saw corporations suck away his life force.

Another very intelligent man I know is a 9/11 truther. Another is a "living Constitution" man. Another an "undocumented immigrant" man. Believe me, they are intelligent people, as well as honest and kindhearted. But somehow common sense eludes them.

I try to make minute course corrections based on new input, where appropriate. I am no stranger to bad decisions and erroneous conclusions but I like to think I am always open to recalculating.

These other fellows seem to be in some kind of a mental tunnel (be nice no matter what??) that they will not leave where new input is irrelevant.

Best I can do just now.
