Progress.

When I was a boy my momma would send me down to a corner store with $1 and I’d come back with 5 potatoes, 2 loaves of bread, 3 bottles of milk, a hunk of cheese, a box of tea and 6 eggs.

You can’t do that now… Too many [darn] security cameras.

Being old enough to remember 20¢ gas, as I was reading it, I was doing a vague mental tote. It went over a dollar pretty quick, I don't care which decade it was. So the punchline punched for me. Thanks for sharing that!

I checked the link. Follow-up commenter missed the joke so bad it was painful.
