Propositional nation.

Judging from a segment of the Amherst College student body, the main proposition behind the "propositional nation" idea appears to be the "deconstruction of America." Shutting down free speech and supporting embarrassing nonsense plays an integral part in this.

As always with the dreamers, naifs, hip hoppers, and leftist subversives, what comes after a successful deconstruction is left somewhat vague by certain scholars at Amherst -- after all a profound love for one's fellow man and an efficient secret police organization have worked well in the past when guide posts have gone missing. But, there's no getting around the horror of the present system. Which must go:

The students demanded that the people behind the free speech fliers be required to undergo “extensive training for racial and cultural competency.”

They also asked administrators to excuse them from coursework and classes so they could participate in protests and sit-ins, The Daily Beast reported.

President Martin must also apologize for the college’s “institutional legacy of white supremacy, colonialism, anti-black racism, anti-Latinx [sic] racism, anti-Native American racism, anti-Native/ indigenous racism, anti-Asian racism, anti-Middle Eastern racism, heterosexism, cis-sexism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, ableism, mental health stigma, and classism,” the group said.

Three students have also started a started a hunger strike, The Daily Beast reported.

“We want to stress that any action taken by Amherst College to address the demands made will not erase the fact that it exists within a larger system of oppression,” Sharline Dominguez, Cristina Rey, and Carolina Vergara wrote in a blog post. “We believe that we will not be free until this larger system is deconstructed.”[1]

If only I could have seen so clearly when I was their age. The ones with insight come from these groups:
AC Voice, ACEMS, African and Caribbean Students Union, Amherst Christian Fellowship, Amherst Dance, Amherst Equestrian Club Team, Amherst Soul, Amherst United Left, Athlete Bible Study, Asian Students Association, Association of Amherst Students, Black Students Union, Charles Drew Health Profession Society, The Charles Drew Memorial House, Chinese Student Association, Choral Society, Cross Country/Track & Field, Lacrosse, Softball, Women’s Rugby, Basketball), Dance and Step at Amherst College (DASAC), Divest Amherst, First-Generation Association, Gospel Choir, GlobeMed at Amherst College, German House, Hip Hop Club, Hillel, International Students Association, Japanese and Chinese Language House, Korean Students Association, La Causa, La Casa, Marsh House, Muslim Students Association, Multicultural Resource Center, Middle Eastern Students Association, Mental Health Education, Men’s and Women’s Ultimate, Multifaith Council, Native American Students Organization (NASO), Newman Catholic Club, Peer Advocates of Sexual Respect, Purple Pride, Pride Alliance, Queer Resource Center, Remnant (Black Christian Ministry), Roosevelt Institute at Amherst College, Sports Teams (Minority Students/ Allies in Football, Tennis, Field Hockey, Soccer, Baseball, Golf, Crew, Swim,, South Asian Student Association, Somos, Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Student Health Educators, Student Security, TransActive, Transfer Student Association, Women of Color Empowerment Group, Women’s and Gender Center, Women and Men’s Club Soccer, Women in Science.

Amherst Soul? Isn't that a bit racist? Sort of like the Washington Redskins?

Yes, I'm certain the Hip Hop Club was terribly offended. When placed in a room with puppies for therapy, they joined them in peeing on the floor. (Maybe they should replace the puppies with bunnies.)

And WTHeck is "Purple Pride"? A Lesbian Power group?
