50 years down the pike.

For decades white America made a desperate attempt to raise blacks to the level of the First World. It didn’t work. Instead [it] saw a dragging down of society to the culture of the ghetto. Blacks were behaving as usual as spoiled brats. Anything that upset them, as everything did, any expectation that they behave, led to cries of racism and depredations by such as Black Lives Matter.

As I mentioned, my parents had said that blacks could not function in the First World. It seemed that they were right. Desegregation had not worked, nor integration, nor quotas nor affirmative action nor Head Start. What didn’t work was turning blacks into members of a European civilization in which they had no interest. It would have worked no better had blacks lived in China, Japan, or Russia.

Nothing worked and nothing is going to work.[1]

This year the Naval Academy will, once again, admit minority candidates with lower board scores and grades than whites and some minorities with even lower scores will arrive at the Academy from the Naval Academy Preparatory School.

This is the state of play 50 years after the beginning of the "Civil Rights Revolution" as we continue to cling to the fairy tales of equality and integration.

In my opinion, the problem is government. People live up to the expectations placed upon them... or down to the expectations placed upon them. Let's be charitable and assume that government didn't intentionally enslave minorities in the culture of generational government dependence. Let's instead assume that government really did try to help, in their usual inept manner. They tried to "make things fair". Instead of society providing equal opportunities for all and the encouragement for everyone to succeed, government decided they needed to intervene to create equal outcomes rather than equal opportunities. What a horrible curse that is, to have society, reflected through a democratically elected government, tell minorities at every turn that they are unable to achieve equal outcomes without government artificially lowering the bar with quotas, set asides, special programs and lots of wealth redistribution. Here's some money for nothing. If your babies' daddies aren't around, we'll provide even more money. We're now two generations into broken families and an institutionalized sense of resentful entitlement. This is mostly an urban problem, but it largely breaks along racial lines primarily because of government racial discrimination in their misguided attempt to end racial discrimination. This will not end well. You don't want to be in Chicago,or any other large city, when the EBT cards stop working. It'll make those Purge movies look like The Sound of Music.
