Adios, Obongo.

Seventy-two days until it's wheels up for Barack Hussein Obama. Thank God for the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution.

Politicians who misunderstimate the Constitution are as common as planet-destroying CO2 but Obama is in a class peopled only by himself, FDR, Wilson, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg (see here and here) who have had a positive contempt for it.

Thank God, too, for the electoral college and the worldwide web that has rendered the lying, hypocritical MSM irrelevant.

Hooray for Donald Trump and the American electorate that spared us four years of Hillary's shrill voice and ultra-leftist agenda.

With luck we'll now see Muslim subversives removed from positions of power or influence in the federal government, the republication of FBI and DHS training materials and operational manuals that are not fairy tales, and an end to the absurdity of the mantras of "religion of peace," "radical, jihadi Islamism," "multiculturalism," and "diversity is our strength." Insane hopes, I know.

Perhaps, too, we will see an end to the disgusting, uncritical worship of the foreigner that is determining the fate of all Western nations. Frans Timmermans, European Commission vice president had, for example, these words on the U.K. Brexit vote:

We have fallen into the trap of identity politics. If the driving force of the European construction is national, cultural or ethnic identity, then it will not survive.
It's exactly the opposite, of course. Brexit evidences a painfully tentative return to common sense on the part of the British. However, the most elementary common sense is mendaciously billed by a senior E.U. official as a threat to "Europe." In point of fact, it's the E.U. that's a threat to the native people of Europe and it's common sense that's a threat to the E.U.

Edited to correct number of remaining days.

Hopefully we also see a return to real math when reporting economic numbers. A problem unidentified cannot be solved.

Exactly. These are times when over 90,000,000 people can be out of work but the unemployment rate is billed as being around 5%. Unh hunh.

In my deplorable past when I was a federal bureaucrat I thought the number one question in any meeting I attended was "What problem are we trying to solve?" Always a great question to keep in mind wherever.

Thanks, Col. Bunny. That's the best comment on the outcome of the election I've yet read.

The "problem that needs solving" now is the virulent, destructive, lying left. Widespread lunacy may be a result of the policies of the left or it may be an independent phenomenon. I lean toward the latter view. Nonetheless, we're light years from addressing our true problems. Black dysfunction is gigantically destructive, for example, but even DJT wants to "invest" in the ghetto, as though the problems found in each and every one were the result of insufficient investment.

Ditto, re utopian thinking. It drives the left but leftists like Hillary talk sagely about boosting the economy with Keynesian stimulus as though the U.S. somehow has a road, rail, bridge, harbor, and airport network that just isn't up to the task. Journalists and academics pull on their chins and node gravely.

Democratic governance is what's not up to the task. Sensible views of producers and others rooted in reality are gradually drowned out by the views of children and morons. Since a massive reduction in the franchise isn't going to happen, the slow slide into collapse and civil war will continue. I suspect that DJT is, like Reagan, just a temporary surcease.

Hear! Hear! THE MAN!

Well said as usual, Colonel!

It's dawning on many of us patriots that 2016 is 1860 redux.

We are a divided nation.

The results of a presidential election has divided us more than united us.

The new president will not be accepted by many millions of Americans, as was the case with Lincoln.

Talk of civil war and secession is common - Oregon will be shortly vote on secession. Will Oregon be the South Carolina of 2016?

If one looks at county by county voting returns maps and which states have stood up to fedgov a 2nd Civil War (3rd Revolution?) would likely not last long. Overlay those data with resources data and the picture becomes crystal clear. The main advantage fedgov (the North) had last time - manufacturing is all but gone.

On a related note: if you want to make a lefty sputter ask them if the Emancipation Proclamation freed slaves in the North. Most don't even realize there were a good number of slaves in the North.
