"Keep clear of the dupes that talk democracy,
And the dogs that bark revolution.
Drunk with talk, liars and believers.
I believe in my tusks. Long live freedom and damn the ideologies!"

Huawei thievery.
Here's an alarming story about Chinese thievery. I hope those bastards get nailed to the wall:
What sort of trade agreement (or contracts of any kind) can be made with a nation of pirates? Chinese goods in the market were unknown just 25 years ago. Perhaps the Chinese leadership would like to return to that state of being. I think their position is untenable.
An apt description of China. Our betters seem to have thought that China would switch from a murderous, lunatic, communist dictatorship to a benign government that's the darling of the League of Women Voters.
China has prospered in direct proportion to the abdication of American politicians and corporations. No humiliation was too great to stand in their way of throwing away our economic and military superiority and standing our domestic economoy on its head.
There is immense distortion in the Chinese Way that I don't pretend to understand. Building ghost cities and, literally, killer levels of air pollution in the cities are not evidence of wise, long-term stewardship. I'm told that arable land and usable water are a looming problem and any kind of a hiccup in production or distribution of food for a nation with a massive population must be the stuff of nightmares for the Party.
I'm becoming convinced that no human or group of humans, however powerful, can really understand how to government complex modern societies. Laissez faire seems like the only viable, long-term option but all the nations of the world are wedded to the top-down government as the way to go.
