George H.W. Bush’s mildly retarded son chose to ignore his enemies on the advice of his guru, Karl Rove. Didn’t work out well for him, did it? Perhaps Trump should counter-attack more selectively, but one reason he still has so many devotees is that he punches back at the Fifth Column (formerly Fourth Estate). Team Trump knows that the U.S.’s most dangerous enemies are within–from both parties, whereas Bush chose to validate himself by fingering a foreign despot so he could anoint himself Lawrence of Mesopotamia.
