I'm HOT - And, Not the GOOD KInd

It's been in the high 90s for the last few weeks in our part of SC. Hotter than usual for late June - but, with A/C, bearable.

Until the A/C went out about 5 days ago.

Fortunately, we already had a window unit in the bedroom - it comes in handy when we want it cool, but we want to avoid the high electric bills. So, we managed until the A/C guys came.

The first people we talked to - the company that put the system in - wanted $1,000 to fix it. DH called around and found another company who agreed to come out.

They looked at the unit, and found that the parts were under warranty, which just left labor to be paid. We agreed.

Only to find out that it would be 4-5 days before they could get the parts. So, we bought another window unit (when this 'crisis' is over, we plan to put it in the attic, near the workbench). And, we're spending most of our time in the 2 rooms that are cool enough.

I should be ashamed to complain - I have so much:

  • a roof over my head
  • a full pantry/fridge
  • money enough to meet basic expenses
  • transportation
and much, much, more. Sometimes we need to reflect on the blessing we have, rather than the troubles we have.

LOL. Great title.

My basic position is if you're fed, dry, warm, and no one is shooting at you you don't really have any serious problems.

Should probably fit "free of serious physical maladies" to my formula.
