I’m Sure This Will Seem Completely Frivolous...

...especially with all the ultra-serious stuff going on, both here in America and around the world, but...

Does anyone out there still observe International Talk Like A Pirate Day? This is the 25th anniversary of the founding thereof, don’t y’know.

Well, me mateys? Be ye conformin’ to the day we be celebratin’, or be ye slackin’ off, like a lot o’ landlubbers?

Make it a family thing! Arrr!

I had forgotten about it. Then, this morning, someone in our ukulele Zoom session mentioned that it was, indeed, Talk Like A Pirate Day, which inspired me to perform A Chat With Your Mom, the first verse of which is about pirates.

I'm afraid I didn't observe it this year, except to play 'The Last Saskatchewan Pirate' by the Arrogant Worms on YouTube. Great Canadian song; it's about turning to piracy on the plains.

And it's a Heave ho, Hi ho, comin' down the Plains
Stealing wheat and barley, and all the other grains.
And it's a Ho hey, Hi hey, farmers bar your doors!
When you see the Jolly Roger on Regina's might shores.
